Shakespeare
Centre Stratford-upon-Avon.
Bold letters carved
directly in the brickwork. The letters are carefully considered for
poise and balance and are deliberately drawn wide to enable them to
be legible when viewed diagonally from the street. The letters are
deeply incised at the edge with a profile curved forward to the centre
of the letter stroke to impart depth and modelling. Unlike traditional
materials used for carving, brick is limited to a maximum depth of
carving of about 20mm.
