Hard Yorkstone memorial with bead moulding to the front and back of the headstone. The lettering is set out to fill the stone with a texture of text. The letterform is moderately elongated to echo the shape of the memorial. As well as a carved moulding to the back the stone has a few lines of poetry. Often the back of headstones are ignored reducing the stone to a one sided sign. Good memorials need to be three dimensional and a properly detailed obverse side helps this. A more private or personal inscription is often appropriate on the back.
