Architectural Carving & Heraldry
As with his lettering Richard Kindersley has experimented with materials used in building construction to great effect. These include his innovative concrete Royal Arms for Liverpool Crown Court and his many brick carvings, a skill and craft he has revived from the work done in the 1930s by Gill, Gilbert Ledward, Arthur Ayres and others. In 2005 he was commissioned to undertake a brick carving in Knightsbridge, London, the largest brick carving in Europe.
